OV Innovations Teeter Pouch Review

Everyday Carry bags that don’t have a decent external water bottle pouch are the bane of my existence.  I’ve had some bags that I like that don’t have one and it’s frustrating because I want to stay hydrated.  I also don’t like a lot of pouches hanging off my bags.

I’ve tried a few different low-profile collapsible water bottle pouches including the MSM Bottle Corset and ITS Skeletonized Bottle Holder.  Those were OK but they’re made from Cordura so they add a bit of weight and bulk.  In some cases, they just look weird when empty.  Overall, I haven’t found one that I’ve liked.

Out of the blue, Adam Teeter from OV Innovations contacted me and offered to send over a new pouch he’d designed called… appropriately enough… the Teeter Pouch.  The Teeter Pouch is a lightweight, collapsible bottle pouch made from proprietary FirstSpear® 6/12™ fabric and bungee cord.  I’ve had experience with the 6/12 fabric since Hill People Gear uses it on their packs (which are produced by First Spear).  I told Adam I’d give it a try.  A week later it quickly found a home behind the Transporter Tail on my TAD Fastpack EDC.  It almost blends into the pack when empty.

The Teeter Pouch is adjustable for both height and depth, allowing it to do everything from securing a water to functioning as a small beaver tail.  Here I have it holding my 32 ounce Hydroflask.

I’ve found that the zipper coils of the side pockets of the Fastpack EDC scratch the powder coat finish on the Hydroflask.  The Teeter Pouch holds the bottle securely behind the Tail without adding much bulk or damaging the flask.

And when worn, it nearly disappears.

Best of all, it added a mere 1.47 ounces to my pack.

The only downside?  It requires a PALS grid with at least 4+ rows and 2+ columns (4 columns makes the install easier to deal with).  So it won’t be suited for every pack.  It’s also not a one-handed operation to get the bottle in and out of the Teeter but I expect that with these type of pouches.

The OV Innovations Teeter Pouch retails for $19.00 and is available in Coyote Brown, Multicam, Foliage Green, and Black.  Due to overwhelming demand, the first run of the pouch sold out.  Visit here to get added to the restock notification list or to purchase once it’s back in stock.

Looks like a good way to hide up some of the molle. How are you liking the TAD? I’m torn between the fast pack edc and mystery ranch 3DAP.
